OUTFIELD COACHES

Andy Collett – Football Academy Director Andy is a former Pro Goalkeeper who played over 250 games for Mbro , Bristol Rovers and Darlington. Andy is an A license GK coach and UEFA B License outfield holder and has worked in professional football for the last 20 years coaching Premier League players including Nick Pope and Kasper Schmeichel.

Phil Stamp – Phil is a former pro footballer and played for 9 years at his boyhood club Middlesbrough . Phil made his debut for Boro as a 17 year old and played in the glory years of Bryan Robson, Juninho, Emerson and Alen Boksic. Phil played over 120 times for MFC including 90 in the Premier League and in an FA Cup Final before moving onto Hearts in the SPL.

Matty Bates – Matty was a former pro footballer and made over 240 appearances . Matty made his debut for Middlesbrough against Manchester City partnering England manager Gareth Southgate in boros defence. Matty went on to make 110 appearances for boro before moving onto clubs such as Norwich, Ipswich, Bristol City, Bradford and Hartlepool. Matty then managed Hartlepool United before joining our PRO16 coaching team. Matty holds the UEFA B License coaching award.

GK COACH

Shane Bland is PRO16 Head GK coach and works daily with our goalkeepers. Shane came through the ranks at Middlesbrough before joining Whitby Town where he has gone on to make over 300 appearances.
